Programme Overview:
Family mediation has become critical to society as society has been shifting from extended family system to nuclear family system. The need for mediators who understand family relations is very key in ensuring peaceful co-existence among family members. The programme is intended for individual professionals engaged in dispute resolution, including in-house counsel, government attorneys, private lawyers, judicial officers, teachers, the clergy, security officers and others. This programme examines the principles, processes and practices family mediation. The training is designed around exercises, simulations and practical case studies, the programme provides a solid foundation on the family dispute resolution techniques in addition to addressing advanced and prevailing issues affecting family relations. Taught by experienced practitioners, participants are guided through a well-balanced content of international and African perspectives, ensuring the content is relevant and practical.
